Adalius Thomas gets confused and trys to take Tim Biakabutuka home

It is that time of year when all teams try to make themselves look better on paper. The 49ers are in the catbird seat with 38 million bucks under the salary cap.

Look for the 49ers to make a major push to sign Baltimore’s free agent linebacker Adalius Thomas, Seattle free agent safety Ken Hamlin, as well as New England free-agent linebacker Tully Banta-Cain. source

The 49ers were on the cusp of the playoffs and were… inventing a stingy defense and produced a high impact runner in Frank Gore. There will be a lot of players willing to go there.

Losing Thomas would be a big blow to the Ravens, a team that used big time defense to carry themselves into the playoffs.

Dre’ Bly will fly

Another interesting trade that may take place is the Dre’ Bly trade. Go figure, the former pro bowl cornerback of the Lions is on the trading block, because he does not fit in the Tampa II defense. The Tampa II uses hard hitting corners, not cover corners.

Knowing that Bly is on the block, Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall admitted that he has been lobbying Atlanta’s front office to trade for the Lions Pro Bowl cornerback.

Hall and Bly grew up in the same area in Virginia, and Hall considers Bly an older brother. The two speak on the telephone on an almost daily basis, and Hall now is doing the small part he can to bring Bly to Atlanta

So what else is new in Lions-ville. They have a legitimate player so they trade him, because he does not fit the scheme of a coach who may not survive his next year.
