NFL Football Revealed on Squib Kick

Addai, Maroney, Reggie Bush - Marshawn too? Fantasy Football II

by James on May 8th, 2007

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Joseph Addai says - Look out LT, you got me sneaking up on you

Joseph AddaiWe continue our series on Fantasy Football with more picks from Michael Fabiano.

Fantasy Football I had our more established stars in it. Fantasy Football II looks at some of the new youngsters.

It is worth mentioning that Michael has the youngsters, Joseph Addai and Laurence Maroney, in his first round and Reggie Bush at the top of his second round. It appears that last year was very good for running backs.

All three players were in a two back system last year and all three players were instrumental in their teams going deep into the playoffs.

Now things have changed for two of them. Joseph Addai takes over the reigns from Derrick Rhodes, who now plays for Oakland.

10. Joseph Addai, RB, Indianapolis: The Colts could still decide to add a free-agent runner to add depth to their backfield, but it seems clear that Addai will be much closer to a true featured back in his second season. A versatile athlete who made some noise as a rookie, Addai could move ahead of Johnson in leagues that add points for receptions. source

Laurence Maroney gets cleaned up for your Fantasy Football draft

Laurence MaroneyLaurence Maroney will be the prime back in Patriot land, now that Corey Dillon is gone.

Keep in mind; with the receivers that New England signed, it can only help Maroney and the running game.

The former Big Ten University of Minnesota star had 7 total touchdowns his rookie season and over 700 yards.

Plan on him doing quite a bit better this year.

11. Laurence Maroney, RB, New England: The Patriots have added some immense talent to their pass attack in the offseason, all of which makes both Tom Brady and Maroney more attractive for fantasy football owners. A talented runner with incredible potential, Maroney should record 1,200-plus rushing yards and seven to nine scores. source

Now Reggie Bush’s status has not changed. Reggie still has Deuce McAllister sharing running plays, but Reggie has gotten more adept at receiving and punt returning and should get plenty of opportunities to score.

13. Reggie Bush, RB, New Orleans: Bush recorded 1,306 all-purpose yards and eight total touchdowns in his rookie season and will continue to be utilized in a prominent fashion. He will be well worth a first-round choice in leagues that reward for catches. source

Maybe last year was better than good, Maurice Jones-Drew is listed at number 16 in the second round. Jones-Drew had an amazing 15 TDs combined rushing and receiving and almost a thousand yards as a rookie.

Will next year be as good? We know Adrian Peterson is going to the Vikings, but he will share his running duties his rookie season with Chester Taylor. Although Nobody noticed that Chester clocked in with 1,216 yards.

The big surprise may be Buffalo and Marshawn Lynch, because they got rid of their running backs. Michael has him going in the 3rd round.

32. Marshawn Lynch, RB, Buffalo: A versatile athlete with serious potential, Lynch should start for the Bills and will be the most valuable rookie in most seasonal drafts. source

Buffalo could use an offensive spark from somewhere.

So, there it is, now you can brag about the young guys you may pick, but wait until draft day to spring Marshawn Lynch on them!
