Arizonia Cardinals - Matt Leinhart the Lone Ranger

Matt Leinart is quickly moving up the ranks of who your intrepid writer wants to be.
First he turns down being the 1st pick in the NFL Football draft to stay at USC. Hmm, starting quarterback, good looking, Southern Cal, lots of beautiful women…well, you get the picture. Evidently he could not concentrate last year, because he falls to 10th in the NFL Football draft.
Then there are rumors this past summer of Matt dating Paris Hilton. Say what you want, it is still Paris and she did not go out with you! (Or me, for that matter). But she would go out with you or me (if we had Matt’s good looks, pro potential, star status, etc). So we can sneer and say “Paris Hilton is skinny”.
Paris Hilton handles it with her usual aplomb and says “We are just friends”.
NFL Football stat of the day Matt Leinart redshirted his freshman season at USC, because the starting quarterback for Southern Cal was Carson Palmer.
Then there are rumors that he was groping some girl in a bar and got slapped. Ok, this one has probably happened to you, but was she as pretty as this girl?
Matt, of future NFL Football Fame, denies it all, of course.
Last, but not least, Matt Leinart is the last of the first round picks in the 2006 NFL Football draft left unsigned. Yours truly realizes that Matt and his agent feel he is worth more than a 10th round pick and rightfully so, because isn’t he leading the fairy tale life we all want to lead?
My own Detroit Lions, a pretend NFL Football team, passed on Matt to take a linebacker that gets concussions. (Isn’t he supposed to give concussions?). Eight other NFL Football teams were also supposedly not interested. Then the Arizonia Cardinals picked him at the 10th pick of the NFL Football draft. Still he holds out and at some point will probably get the money.
NFL Football Fan Question Is Matt the man for the job or is he just groping for more money?

There’s a reason Leinart fell from top-3 in the draft to #10, so I think the Cardinals are right not to throw a bunch of guaranteed money his way without thinking it through. All the stories about him being “too Hollywood” and more interested in hanging out with A-list celebs than taking hits in the NFL are definitely a cause for concern.

Biz,
concern or not, my Detroit Lions decided to live with Jon Kitna. Ouch. Hoping Matt Millen knew something that we don’t, but his track record as a General Manager insists that he knew nothing.
Matt is still a kid, lets hope he puts it all together.
