Brady Quinn - Just say Yes!
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Brady Quinn dreaming of being a Lion
OK, maybe not

The Detroit Lions are locked in a battle to the finish. They need 3 solid losses to walk away with the 1st pick in next year’s draft. Oakland also has only 2 victories, but the Lions managed to do it against a weaker strength of schedule.
Are they to be congratulated? Who knows?
This is, once again, one… of those times that the Lions fans live for. There only a few. The year round “get rid of owner Bill Ford Sr.”, the year round “get rid of Matt Millen General Manager”, the actual draft time in the spring when hope for a better future is cruelly presented to the Lions fans, and the annual run for the high draft pick.
This time the Lions seem to have a bead on the first pick. The consensus 1st pick is Brady Quinn of Notre Dame.
Will Brady Quinn say NO?
Some are calling for Brady Quinn to say NO to the Lions.
Surely Drew Sharp is just being facetious, but it is the pain that Lions fans, players, coaches, and even writers feel that make them think this way.
Your intrepid writer has been a Lions fan all his life and, believe me, the frontal lobotomy did nothing to stop the anguish.
How pathetic are the Lions? They are one of only two NFL teams to not have a regular cheerleader squad.
Why? You ask. Ha ha, there is nothing to cheer about. (The Squibster wishes that was a joke)
Meanwhile the Lions are trying hard to secure that first pick.
Kevin Jones and the missing running backs
The third string running back is out for the season. Not a problem you say? Well, the second string running back is out for the season. Not a problem you say? Hmm, get this, the first string running back is also out for the season and probably was the best player on the offensive side of the ball.
Big deal, you say? That running back is Kevin Jones and it is thought he may miss all of next season too.
The running backs name is now Arlen. No, it really is.
Think that is different? The backup running back, formerly the fifth string running back is named Aveion.
Lions tough against the Run
The Lions were tough against the run early in the season with Shaun Cody and Shaun Rodgers. You guessed it, both out for the season.
Last week, Artose (Detoose) Pinner, former 3rd string Lion running back ran for 125 yards and 3 touchdowns. Hey, no defensive tackles, no tackling.
That pretty much leaves the Lions with Roy Williams on offense being quadruple covered and Ernie Sims the rookie linebacker making every single tackle. Hard to win anything that way.
Maybe now you are beginning to feel the Squibster’s pain.
Bring on Brady Quinn
So please, let us have Brady Quinn and feel like winners for at least one day.
My boss, we will call him Neil, is calling for a Tackle to be drafted. Why get Brady Quinn when he will just get killed?
My UM friend is calling for anyone but Brady Quinn. A UM fan can not stomach the draft of a Notre Dame player.
Pain, anguish, confusion, it is all a part of the great big happiness we call being a Lions fan!
NFL Football Fan Question So what if Oakland gets the first pick and takes Brady Quinn? Who do the Lions take? Does it really matter?
