Buffalo Bills Trent Edwards to Start
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Buffalo Trent won’t you come out tonight
At times last year J.P. Losman looked like he was headed in the right direction.
Then he got hurt this year and may turn into Wally Pipp.
Dick Jauron, coach of the Buffalo Bills announced Trent Edwards will be his starter.
Coach Dick Jauron made the announcement on Tuesday in a two-paragraph statement issued by the team as the Bills (2-4) prepare to travel to play the New York Jets on Sunday.
“We are naming Trent Edwards as our starting quarterback,” Jauron said, noting he had informed both Edwards and Losman of his decision. source
NFL Football Trent Edwards factoid
In his junior and senior seasons at Los Gatos, he led theteam to two undefeated seasons and back-to-back Central Coast Section Division III championships.source
Fox Sports had rated Trent Edwards as the 4th best QB prospect for the 2007 draft. JaMarcus Russell was rated first, Brady Quinn 2nd, and Drew Stanton 3rd.
My quick readers will instantly notice that JaMarcus is on the pine, Brady is on the pine behind a red hot Derek Anderson, and Drew is on the IR. That leaves old Mr. 4 spot starting for the Bills.
NFL Football Trent Edwards factoid
Edwards was a highly-rated recruit from Los Gatos High School and was ranked as the number 1 passing quarterback by USA Today in 2001. source
Before you tag Trent as king of the top 4, keep in mind, it almost always takes a few years for a quarterback to develop unless your initials are Peyton Manning.

2 opinions for Buffalo Bills Trent Edwards to Start
I Bet Fair

Edwards has some pocket poise doesn’t he. I’ve only seen him against the Jets and the Cowboys this season, but both times he looked calm and like a leader in the huddle. Losman has that arm, but for a guy in his fourth year ? he should not be losing his job to a rookie. Also Edwards seems to be able to avoid the heat a little better when the O-line invariably gets beaten on third downs.

You gotta wonder if it has nothing to do with the qbs and more to do with a general lack of talent on that team.
