Lance Briggs, weakside linebacker for the Chicago Bears. (Squibster full disclosure Lance Briggs is on my Fantasy Football Team) He has over 300 tackles after 3 years and 1 game.

In fact if you have Kevin Jones, of the Detroit Lions, as your fantasy running back, maybe it would be a good time to send him to the bench. He did not exactly light the house on fire against the Seattle Seahawks anyway.

Chicago tried hard to get Lance signed to a contract extension in the spring, but it did not work out. Maybe it will end up being the best thing for the Bears. A little extra motivation.

In the first game, Lance racked up 9 tackles and a sack to get off to an excellent start. Playing with Brian Urlacher gives the Bears an awesome linebacking crew. Of course, the whole Bears defense is awesome.

This week the Bears play my usually pathetic, but up and coming Detroit Lions. It will be the Greatest Show on Turf brought to you by Lions Offensive Coordinator Mike Martz vs. The great linebackers of the Chicago Bears.

Chicago’s swarming linebackers are Lance Briggs (6-1, 240) on the weakside, Urlacher (6-4, 258) in the middle and Hunter Hillenmeyer (6-4, 238) on the strongside. Detroit counters with a smaller group with great speed: rookie Ernie Sims (6-0, 225) at weakside, Boss Bailey (6-3, 235) in the middle and Alex Lewis (6-0, 23) at strongside.
