How cool is it to beat the champs?
You are the worst team in football. You do not score a touchdown. Your quarterback completes 5 passes. You beat last year’s Super Bowl Champs. Pass the champagne.
That is exactly what the Oakland Raiders did this last Sunday. With the help of… a couple of interceptions for touchdowns, one of them a 100 yard return by Chris Carr, they managed to hold off the Steelers for the 20 - 13 victory.
Let’s set the scene. Pittsburgh has a 4th and goal at the 2. Big Ben goes back to pass and sees 11 Oakland Raiders spread out across the field. The rush flys in and drives Big Ben out of the pocket. He looks to possibly run for the TD, but decides to pass it to his rookie tight end and Oakland swats it away.
That was with 2 minutes left.
Pittsburgh got the ball back and ended up throwing a Hail Mary to the 2 yard line again as time ran out.
You are Oakland. You are a Raider. You have beaten the champs!
