Collective bargaining agreement roundup
First, what would happen if the agreement gets made? Things will remain as they are until about 2013. After that we have to go through all of this crap all over again.
What happens if the agreement doesn’t get made? That’s where things get interesting. The bottom line is that it will have a huge effect on the teams, the owners, the players, and just about everyone in the NFL, and very little effect on the consumer, which is, of course, you and I.
Even late yesterday and early today I was hearing that the two sides had just about agreed, and then I read this from USA Today which basically stuck the proverbial fork in that. It appears now, more than ever, that we are going to have an uncapped season in 2007. What exactly that will mean is still not clear, but things could get interesting over the next few years, whether or not the sides do end up agreeing.
