Squibster full disclosure - my pick of the Saints was dead wrong. The Saints are the Aints.
Final Score: Chicago 39 New Orleans 14
Amazingly the Bears shrugged off the media, your intrepid author included, and went out and put a wuppin on the Saints.
After the game, Mike Ditka showed up at your gallivanting author’s humble abode and put a wuppin on the Squibster. Ahh, Mike just being Mike. We love ya!
NFL Football Lovie Smith factoid Lovie is the first black coach in the Super Bowl in 41 years.
Jones and Benson rushed for a 183 yards. Rex Grossman did his best job of just staying out of the way. Rex only threw for 144 yards, but he took no sacks and threw no interceptions. He made the throws he had to and left everything else to Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson.
With the exception of an electrifying 88 yard pass reception by Reggie Bush, the Bears defense stymied the Saints on a cold field with a slight snow coming down. Yep, it was Urlacher, Briggs, and the boys taking it to Drew Brees and the Saints.
Get this, Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush totaled 37 yards on the ground and zero touchdowns. You will not win many games that way.
Meanwhile, Drew Brees was sacked 3 times, intercepted once and just seemed to be dropping the ball all over the place.
