Donovan McNabb to the Bears?
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
The return of the Squibster. Now the good and the bad. The good is that my most excellent boss and coworkers filled in quite nicely and that is most appreciated.
The bad is the Squibster is diagnosed with Cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. Fear not, they say the cancer is one that is curable, so let us move forward with our dreams of football!
Goodbye Philly, Hello Windy City
The rumors are flying. Here is what the Eagles President Joe Banner said:
“You are talking about a quarterback who has had a higher winning percentage in his first seven years in the league than Peyton Manning. You are talking about a quarterback that has one of the highest quarterback ratings over the first seven seasons, one of the best TD-to-interceptions ratios of any quarterback in the history of this game in his first seven seasons in the league. My expectations, and I can’t really even picture a different scenario, is that he’ll be the quarterback.”
Translation. McNabb is a goner. source
With the Bears great defense and a real quarterback, wow! Not to mention the North Division is not exactly great.
Meanwhile, in the Windy City, Rex Grossman is most likely out for the season.
Whether that’s his last sighting in a Chicago uniform remains to be seen. The team had no update on his condition on Friday, but the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun-Times, citing unidentified sources, reported on their Web sites he has a sprained medial collateral ligament and will need about a month to recover. That would mean his season is over. source
Keep in mind; this is the final year of Rex’s contract. Goodbye, Rex.
So, do they go with Kyle Orton?
Now you understand the Donovan rumors.

3 opinions for Donovan McNabb to the Bears?

YES!
I like Grossman and think with a little luck and a better run blocking O-line he’d be worth the first-round pedigree. The injuries have been more bad luck than anything, and he is a much better QB with an early lead. He’s still got a place in the NFL.
That said … McNabb should have been a Bear as a rookie. There was talk at the time of Chicago trading up to get the local prep star instead of dealing down to land Cade McNown (who wasn’t a bad pick, at the time). I’d love to see the Bears get a name veteran rather than fishing for yet another prospect the organization can’t develop.

I feel it is time for a change in Phila. and McNabb is an overpaid interception artist. He has gotten worswe every year. Evidently the injuries have affected him in more ways than physical.

I think it is too early to be jumping to this conclusion.
