Draft Outlook: A.J. Hawk to San Francisco
The best defensive player, IMHO, in the draft this year is Ohio State Buckeye A.J. Hawk. Hawk, Linebacker extraordinairre is likely to go early and while many experts expect him to be grabbed by Green Bay, I’m half expecting a last minute power move by the 49ers. MY guess? The 49ers trade up to the Saints’ #2 pick and take Hawk.
San Francisco had the worst defense in the NFC in 2005 with the worst pass defense and secondary and a miserable run defense as well. If any team needs help on defense, it’s San Francisco.
