Ernie Sims is playing so great they want to play him less
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
So are they looney, those coaches of the Lions? No.
So are the dumb? No.
So are they taking banned substances? No.
Well, then, why are they going to play Sims less? Answer that smarty pants.
Ernie will hunt you down
That is easy. Ernie is playing so much and so hard that he is wearing down in games. He goes full tilt for about 70 snaps all over the field leading the team in tackles. (Squibster full disclosure - Ernie Sims in on my Fantasy Football team)
With Teddy Lehman and Alex Lewis returning from injuries the coaches thought it would make sense to get Sims some rest so he is quicker and stronger at the end of games.
Actually, right tackle Rex Tucker and left guard Ross Verba are also returning. The Lions will soon be up to full strength. Add in Teddy and Alex also play on the kicking team. Rookie Devale Ellis has been signed and Shaun Rogers should return by Thanksgiving. Yes, things are looking up. Now if they could just win some games.
NFL Football Fan Question Will the return of the many injured linebackers and offensive lineman put the Lions in the victory column? Is a more rested Sims a better Sims?
