Frank Gore running away from my Lions and towards a pile of cash!
How can this be? You, me, your neighbor, we are all trying to hold on to our jobs. If only, yes, if only we could make just a little more. It would be great, right?
What you need to do is simple. Just bulk up out of your mind and join the NFL. Yeah, the NFL has the money.
There are 32 teams in the NFL and fully 14 of them have 10 million out of the 109 million dollar salary cap left over. How would you like to have 10 million bucks just left over?
The poor 49ers just resigned Frank Gore to a long term contract and spent a ton of dough on Nate Clements and consequently missed the 10 mill club by .2 mill.
You got .2 mill don’t you? Maybe you could loan it to them? Oh, that’s right; you are trying to keep your job.

Already the average players are getting more money.
That means contracts for average players will continue to rise as they did at the start of free agency this year when offensive linemen such as Derrick Dockery and Eric Steinbach received deals that averaged $7 million a year. source
That leads to players seeing some substantial raises down the road.
“There’s no way to eat up all the money that’s out there this year,” said one agent. “Teams are going to do everything they can to sign their young guys to long-term deals, but it still isn’t going to be enough. When teams start to roll over money to next year, it’s going to be unreal what some guys are going to get.”
Maybe your boss will walk in tomorrow and announce they found 10 millions more dollars to hand out in salary.
And, most likely, he won’t.
