Hey There, Aaron Here
It’s football season. No, really. I know it’s April and games don’t actually get going until September, but in my opinion football season is year round. Jesse asked me to join up with him and help blog the NFL.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Aaron Brazell. I am an avid blogger and can be found at numerous places around the net including my personal blog, Technosailor, That Damn PC, and others. I even maintain a regular column at ProBlogger, thanks to the immortal Darren Rowse.
Most importantly, though, I am a sports fan and most specifically, an NFL fan. Even more specifically, I am a Baltimore Ravens fan and my second favorite team is whoever is playing the Steelers. There was no conference loyalty in the Super Bowl. So expect certain bias in my blogging. ;-)
Anyways, draft day is coming up. More offseason mini-camps, rumors, gossip, preseason and then kickoff in September. I’m looking forward to being there.

things might get interesting during the season as “our” teams play each other twice a year ;)

I can’t believe you let a Modell lover in here. I thought this was a classy joint! :)

lol, that debate’s not going anywhere. Modell may have made a mistake or two, but you can’t completely ignore the contributions he made to the sport…

I know a few Browns fans who’ll tell you otherwise :)

Clevenand has a minor league football team called the “Clowns”. It should be noted that these minor league Clowns have beat the murder harboring and coke dealing Ravens 5 times since 2001. We would love for our Cleveland team to be professional and ripe with scandal, but we must be content with wrecking motorcycles.
How do you become a Ravens fan anyway? Are you a Colts fan that wants to be purple or where you a fan of the original “best team before the merger” Cleveland Browns that turncoated to Baltimore and became crooks. Every Raven fan can be summed up with one word….BANDWAGON!
Mdog’s bold prediction - Baltimore picks Marcus Vick in round 1.

Hey, Yum Yo… I’m from Baltimore. I’m 29. Do you honestly think I know anything about the old Baltimore Colts? I think not. I’m a Ravens fan because they are the hometown team and because it does me proud to shove it in Tagliabue’s face that he couldn’t get a team in Mexico City before he got one in Baltimore.
Shove it.

Yep! :)
Pretty much, mdog is pissed because Cleveland can’t man up a decent team and they never will. They’ll be competitive, but don’t expect them to have any real showing in the playoffs much less the Super Bowl - ever.
It was easy when the original Browns were in Cleveland to blame Art Modell and what not. But the team was a loser of a team not because of the team but because of the city is a loser city. They have a loser mentality and quite obviously they have loser fans.
This is not speculation. This is fact. The original Browns leave Cleveland and… whoa!… they win a Super Bowl. Cleveland gets awarded a new Browns team in 1999 and they finish as losers every year:
1999 - 6th in the AFC Central
2000 - 6th in the AFC Central
2001 - 3rd in the AFC Central (moving on up)
2002 - 2n in the AFC North (not so shabby… even made the playoffs and LOST)
2003 - 4th (of 4!) in the AFC North
2004 - 4th in the AFC North
2005 - 4th in the AFC North
Get real, mdog.

They’ve even corrupted Phil Savage…the man was brilliant before he came to Cleveland, and now it’s sometimes hard to try and figure out what on Earth he was thinking…

Never was there a team who drafted more brilliantlly than Phil Savage and Ozzie Newsome. A Tackle (Jonathon Ogden) as the 4th pick overall in ‘96? And yep.. Savage has been destined to become a loser.
