NFL Football Revealed on Squib Kick

In Chicago, It’s Da Bears

by James on June 19th, 2007

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Their Defense is unbelievable. They come at you eleven strong with an iron will and a desire to stomp on you, to smash you, to crush you. If needed, they will scream and grunt and cry out, just before attempting to rip your head off. Make sure you strap on your helmet and wear a face guard.

The middle linebacker wants to tear off your arm and use it to club you. The defensive end will stop to crush you and still get the quarterback. You have to be careful not to cry, because it is going to hurt. This team is a team of Destiny and their destiny was the Super Bowl! With an offense that ran and ran and a Defense that just shut people down, they were not to be denied…

Whoa there fellah, you saying the Chicago Bears are going to win it all this year?
No.
But you just said…
Don’t be telling the squibster what he said.
So, are they going to win or not?
What are you talking about? They already won the Super Bowl.
Huh?

Mike Ditka and Will FerrellThe 1985 Chicago Bears, you know, its Da Bears! The Super Bowl champs coached by Iron Mike Ditka. You gotta love Ditka, if you love football. He is all about football. And how about Buddy Ryan and his famous 46 defense built to stop the run. They delivered two shutouts late in the season and two more in the playoffs before winning it all against the Patriots 46 - 10.

Just after the first playoff shutout and before the second playoff shutout, Mike Ditka delivered this famous quote

Coach Mike Ditka started the week off by telling the press that “In life, there are teams called Smith, and teams called “Grabowski”….We’re Grabowskis!” The term became a rallying cry for the Bears, who were proud of their blue-collar image in a blue-collar city. Source

This will go down as one of the great teams of all time. Too bad it was only for a year. The egos on the team tore it apart.

Even today’s Bears must measure themselves against this wrecking crew.
