NFL Football Revealed on Squib Kick

Is Brett Favre Having A Career Year?

by admin on November 23rd, 2007

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

At 38-years-old, Brett Favre should be winding down his career. And really, over the last two seasons, it appeared that Favre’s career was coming to an end. He had 20 touchdown to go with 29 interceptions in 2005, and followed that up with 18 touchdowns and 18 interceptions in 2006.

However, 2007 has been a rebirth for Favre. On Thanksgiving, Favre showed the world that he has a lot left in his gun of a right arm. Against the Detroit Lions, Favre had 381 yards and three touchdowns. It was the sixth game this season he’s thrown for at least 300 yards in a game and his third consecutive game with three touchdowns.

What’s amazing is he’s actually on pace to have a career best season. Favre is on pace to throw for 4882 yards, 32 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The passing yards would be a career high, while the interceptions would be a career low. Favre’s career best as far as touchdowns is 39 (in 1996) and even that number isn’t out of reach with how well Favre is playing right now.

Not only are Favre’s personal numbers great, his team is 10-1. That’s Favre’s best record ever after 11 games. If Favre can continue on this pace and lead the Packers to a good run in the playoffs, there’s a likely chance that this would go down as the best year of Favre’s career. Not bad for a guy who is 38-years-old and almost retired during the offseason.
