Lance Briggs, David Carr - wanted or not?
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Uh, Mom, They just signed another quarterback
You know, maybe it would be easier if they just swapped team nicknames instead of players.
There just seems to be so much player movement this year.
Lance Briggs and David Carr may or may not move, but the threat is there. Lance wanting to leave and David wanting to stay.
David Carr rumors
Now it looks like the Falcons, for whatever reason, have decided to keep Michael Vick and trade Matt Schaub to the Texans.
This cranks up the rumor mill. Michael Vick will remain a Falcon and David Carr will soon be handed his walking papers from the Texans.
Now whether that happens or not remains to be seen, but the evidence is strong.
The 6-5, 237-pound Virginia alum has only started two games in his career, but his size, coupled with his performances in the preseason, has made him a hot prospect inside the NFL.
Schaub is now trying to work out a long-term deal with the Texans. While the trade is not yet finalized, it’s expected to be completed today. source
Last year David Carr got hot early and actually became a great pick for your Fantasy Football team. Later in the season the lack of an offensive line and decent running back doomed David Carr to a sub par season.
Lance wants to be Brian Urlacher
Lance Briggs has been slapped with the franchise tag and offered a 1 year 7.2 million dollar contract.
Lance removed Bubba Franks helmet and where was his head?
Per usual, the franchise tag creates nothing but acrimony between player and management.
The teams see it as a way to control salary cap and the players feel it robs them of any bargaining position.
Lance believes that his 2 Pro Bowls deserve something more of a long term nature. So that has him thinking.
Briggs, who is extremely close with the Bears’ star Brian Urlacher, wants to run his own show somewhere and knows it can’t happen with No. 54 manning the middle.
“I’ve talked to Brian about it,” said Briggs. “I’m a competitor, and I want the same thing he has. I’ve learned a lot from Brian as a player and a leader, and I eventually want to be ‘the man’ somewhere. I want to be like him and have everything put on me, too. Obviously, I’ll never be able to do that there. source
The Bears would be seriously crazy to let Briggs go, but still need to manage their salary cap as best they can.
Briggs just wants some of that Big Bear love!
NFL Football Fan Question Will the Texans deal Carr? Will Briggs get his long term deal? My guess is Yes and No.
