Larry Johnson is predictable, Warren Sapp has a tirade
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Larry Johnson is unstoppable
Last week, Larry Johnson moaned that the Kansas City Chiefs were too predictable. This week he got the ball 31 times and each time he knew what to do with it.
Now how Oakland could not know that Larry was going to get the ball and run into the line is beyond me.
Final Score Kansas 20 Oakland 9
Kansas City’s defense picked up 5 turnovers and had 3 sacks in holding the hapless Raiders to 9 points on 3 field goals. (Squibster full disclosure - Kansas City’s defense is on my Fantasy Football Team)
Larry ended up… with 135 predictable yards on 31 predictable carries for a single predictable touchdown. (Squibster full disclosure - Larry Johnson is the star runner on my Fantasy Football Team)
Warren Sapp has had it
Meanwhile, Warren Sapp erupted after another Oakland turnover by quarterback Andrew Walter.
Walter was 27-for-37 for 226 yards, but lost two fumbles and threw two interceptions. That gives him 22 turnovers on the season, despite starting only eight games.
It was Walter’s second fumble in the first half that set Sapp off. He had been pacing the sideline and yelling in frustration during the drive. He flung his poncho to the ground after the fumble that Jared Allen forced and recovered. source
Sapp also threw his helmet to the turf and later threw a towel as he continued to fret the whole game. It has been that kind of season in Oakland.
Larry Johnson leads the Chiefs
The Chiefs needed this victory, which made it all the sweeter. Since Trent Green has been back the offense has struggled at times and has had to depend heavily on the power running of Larry Johnson. This makes it good to get a victory, while they try to reestablish their offense.
Kansas is hoping that Larry has enough carries in him to beat Jacksonville next week and give the Chiefs a shot at the playoffs. Due to a poor conference record, the Chiefs are on the bottom of a huge pile of close to .500 teams with a shot at the playoffs.
By the way, maybe not quietly, but certainly not with a tremendous amount of fanfare, Larry has put together an awesome year. Larry now has 1,651 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns rushing and receiving. Both marks are good for second in the NFL.
Even though those stats are a little below last year, he has one more game to add to those stats, Larry played the whole year with a few less lineman than last year and his starting quarterback was out most of the year with a concussion, so teams knew he was going to run and that his starting quarterback was not in there.
Somehow Larry managed to get it done and still be predictable!
NFL Football Fan Question The Jets appear to have a solid shot at one of the wild cards, but who will get the other one? Can Kansas City beat the Jaguars and make the playoffs?
As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.

Sapp has good reasons for being frustrated. Most of his teammates quit two weeks ago. Sure, the Raider defense continues to try for the most part, but the offense is asleep and looks like it is in slow motion. I watched part of this Chiefs/Raiders contest… usually filled with intensity. Not this year. The Raiders are the worst in the league.
Oh, and Sapp did this to himself… his ego was too big for Tampa even after they were World Champs. Now he’s on a team that is all ego and no effort.

Hey Rock,
kind of sad, the Raiders were always a team of malcontents from other teams that came together as Raiders. Count me as a closet Raider fan for decades.
Now they are a team epitomized by Randy Moss not really trying. Just kind of sad.

Yes. In the old days they were the banditos… the misfits who came together like a biker gang to knock some heads.
As a kid, I cheered for two teams: Dolphins and Raiders… yin and yang. (Although I always favored the Dolphins.)
But this bunch just quits. Shows they have no heart. So I don’t blame Sapp for getting angry. Art Shell needs to knock some heads… and if the Raiders fire him… again… then it will just get worse.
