NFL Football Revealed on Squib Kick

Marinelli true to his convictions

by James on October 11th, 2006

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Coach says No Excuses

Coach MarinelliCoach Marinelli. You gotta love this guy. His team is 0 and 5. They literally stink. Yet he offers no excuses.

The offensive line is devastated losing 3 starters that were not exactly all pro to begin with. The star receiver goes out with a stinger (Roy Williams) (Squibster full disclosure - Roy is on my Fantasy Team). So the Vikes decide to key on Kevin Jones (Squibster full disclosure Kevin was starting for my Fanstasy Team during a bye week for Rudi Johnson. Rudi is back and Kevin was cut) and shut him down. And it gets worse…

Charles sent packing

Charles RogersThe best guard goes out with a foot injury (Damien Woody). The number two receiver was let go (Charles Rogers) for smoking too much wacky tobacky. The number 3 receiver got to play one play, dropped the ball and had to sit down (Mike Williams).

Big All Pro Shaun Rogers limps off the field. Shaun Cody the other half of your interior defensive line leaves the game with an injury. Your right cornerback is practically knocked out (Fernando Bryant).

Your best linebacker is a rookie (Ernie Sims). The hotdog vendor burns his buns (Joe Schmoe). Your quarterback is a castoff (Jon Kitna) (Squibster full disclosure - Jon rides the pine for my Fantasy Team)

Still Marinelli watches the film and sees a lack of discipline. Does not matter if you are the 4th string tackle; you have a job to do. We coach you to do a job and you had better do it. That is discipline. Practice hard and execute during games. No Excuses.

NFL Football Fan Question How is it possible for a 0 and 5 coach to be loved by Lions fans? Can Marinelli survive Matt Millen?
