Matt looks up and asks why?

Pay close attention. Let me pass you a few stats and you tell me who won the game.

Matt Leinart 405 yards passing vs. the Vikings vaunted defense. Who won?

Michael Vick 166 yards rushing vs. the Saints. Who won?

Frank Gore 134 yards rushing vs. the porous defense of the Rams. Who won?

Roy Williams 126 yards receiving against the Miami Harringtons, err Dolphins. Who won?

Ahh, you caught on. They all lost. Stats are great for fantasy football, but winning is all that matters in real NFL Football.

New England beats Chicago

By the way, Rex Grossman had another bad day with only 176 yards passing and 3 interceptions to lose to New England 17 to 13. Rex had the ball with less than 2 minutes and the length of the field to go and immediately threw a long pass for an interception.

Rex is young and still learning, but that was not the time to go for it all. There was time to work it up the field and pick your spots. He almost seems to revel in his brashness of play. Don’t worry, Lovie will counsel him and he will get it right.

Tom Brady struggled early, but managed to get the pass to Ben Watson with a little over 8 minutes left to win the game. It has not been the best of years for Tom, but New England is doing fine.

Your intrepid author’s readers are smarter than the Squibster as the Patriots won the poll narrowly beating the Don’t Cares.

NFL Football Fan Question Chicago is still vulnerable to Rex Grossman’s bad games. Can Chicago live on defense and win it all?
