Monday Night is Donovan’s night
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers 31 to 9. Brett Favre underperformed completing only half his passes with 2 interceptions. Meanwhile, Donovan McNabb had 288 yards passing for 2 tds (both to Greg Lewis) and rushed for 2 tds. It is not that McNabb had a great night, because most of the night he struggled. Late in the game, McNabb performed just enough heroics to have his team pull away.
Philadelphia trailed 9-7 at halftime, but McNabb used his legs in the third quarter, running for two key first downs, to ignite the offense and lead the Eagles (3-1) to their third victory by a double-digit margin. “I decided to go back to my style of play,” McNabb said, “and if the opportunity is there, take full advantage. source
The Packers had Favre (Squibster full disclosure - Brett is the backup qb on my Fantasy Team) leave the game with a head injury in the 4th quarter and Aaron Rodgers, Packer qb of the future, take over. They could only muster 3 field goals by former MSU Spartan star Dave Rayner.
Phillie moves to First Place in the tough NFC West Division. They are a half game ahead of the Cowboys.
