NFL Draft Round 1- New York Jets select D’Brickashaw Ferguson
With the 4th overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft the New York Jets have selected D’Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, University of Virginia.
While I thought the Jets might make the move to try to take a guy like Matt Leinhart or Jay Cutler, they resisted the super stars and took the player they needed most. Their offensive line has been horrible, and that’s one of the reasons Chad Pennington got hurt. With a guy like Ferguson to anchor their line for the next ten years they are a better team, whoever is quarterback next year whether it’s Pennington or Ramsey or someone else.
