NFL Football Revealed on Squib Kick

NFL Quick Hits - Drew Brees, LT, Rex, Joey, and more

by James on December 15th, 2006

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Chad tells Drew Brees he is too short

Drew Brees and Chad PenningtonThe end of the regular season is drawing closer and the stories of the league are getting better. Just for fun, let us look around the NFL and see what we can see.

Drew Brees is an incredible story. This guy was too short, we said. Now he may break the single season record for passing yardage held by Dan Marino and at the same time lead the New Orleans Saints to the Promised Land. Anyone who predicted Drew Brees leading the Saints to the Super Bowl can now step up and claim their ultimate prognosticators award.

LaDainian Tomlinson

Of course, with the battle of the MVP coming down to the best player in football vs. Drew Brees, you have to mention the best player in football, LaDainian Tomlinson. He has already broken the rushing touchdown record for one season and is a major part of the Chargers run to the Super Bowl.

You know you score a lot when they write about your lack of end zone celebrating, a la Barry Sanders.

Is LT the MVP? Maybe we ought to wait for the games to be played out. The Squibster is giving the edge to Drew Brees right now.

Harrington and Culpepper

Speaking of Drew Brees, how bad do you think Miami is feeling for passing on Drew Brees for Duante Culpepper in the free agent market? Must be pretty bad, because now that Culpepper is out for the season, they are bragging up Joey Harrington.

Don’t worry, Joey has those tapes of Tom Brady to listen to. Everybody needs a mentor.

Tony Romo and Terrell Owens

In another area of the world called Terrell Owensville, a new quarterback called Tony Romo has replaced old what’s his name and appears to be taking the Cowboys into the playoffs with a chance to win. What was his name anyway?

How about some things that we think we know.

  • Chicago wins with defense, unless Rex Grossman losses the game for them.
  • Indy can’t stop the run, so they can’t win it all. Sorry Peyton.
  • New England is at it again. They control the games and win at the end by out executing you.
  • Denver has great D, but will have to go with a rookie quarterback, Jay Cutler.
  • Seattle is unstoppable when they have all their weapons, but also can’t stop anyone.
  • Detroit and Oakland are locked in a mortal battle to the death for the Quinn.

Stay tuned for more quick hits coming soon!
