NFL Football Revealed on Squib Kick

Pacman, Tank, & Evans is not a law firm, but will need a law firm

by James on June 24th, 2007

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Nothing but trouble. That is all we read about and it is just sickening.

The beginning of training camps can start today, please. If only it would.

We don’t even have a good salary holdout story to read about.

What? We do? LJ is holding out? Oh, come on, Larry!

What? He is just talking holdout? Oh, good.

Now onto our law firm in the making, Pacman, Tank, & Evans. First off the name would probably be changed to Jones, Johnson, & Evans, which sounds a little more sophisticated.

So what is the rundown?

Pacman

Hmm, Pacman Jones, who turned himself in the other day for a possible shooting and got out on bond, has had an effect on his teammates and none other than Vince Young spoke up.

With Jones having at least 12 run-ins with police since Tennessee made him the No. 6 overall pick in the 2005 draft, Titans quarterback Vince Young questioned Jones’ level of dedication to his teammates.

“We want him back here … making plays because he does a whole lot for our team,” Young said. “But at the same time, as a team we are feeling like, ‘Man, does he care about us over here?’ ” source

In other words, get your bleep together or get out of here. We are trying to win some football games!

Tank

The 300 pound defensive tackle of the Chicago Bears going by the name of Tank Johnson was already suspended for 8 games and could have had it reduced by a couple of games if he displayed good behavior. That, it seems, is not to be, as Tank was pulled over doing 40 in a 25 while slightly intoxicated.

We all know nothing good happens after midnight when you mix in alcohol. (Wait a minute, what about the time your intrepid author was tipping a few and … oops, better not talk about that one.)

Police in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert said Johnson was stopped for driving 40 mph in a 25 mph zone at 3:30 a.m. Friday and the officer made observations that led him to believe Johnson was impaired.

Sgt. Andrew Duncan, a police spokesman, said Johnson was arrested for “DUI impaired to the slightest degree” but was released without being booked or charged.

Duncan said Johnson was taken to the Gilbert police station, where officials drew blood for a blood-alcohol content test before his release. He described Johnson as “very cooperative.” source

Impaired to the slightest degree? Isn’t kind of like you are or you aren’t? Don’t you get ticked off when they give you the impaired to the slightest degree?

A Dolphin named Fred

As long as we are on the subject of naughty defensive tackles there is Fred Evans of the Miami Dolphins. Tiny Fred, only 6′4″ and 305 lbs. had to be tasered to bring him in as he refused to get out of a cab.

Evans was charged with multiple counts of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting with violence, along with single counts of disorderly intoxication and trespassing. One officer was allegedly bitten on the wrist and a female officer sustained scrapes on her left knee, police said.

Dolphins coach Cam Cameron, in a brief statement, said the team was aware of Evans’ arrest.

“We will not condone this type of behavior,” Cameron said. “I assure everyone it will be dealt with seriously.” source

Bit on the wrist? He did say bit on the wrist, right? Cam will have to deal with that biting defensive tackle and most likely the punishment will be stern, because he only started one game.

Aren’t you tired of reading about all these gun toting, drinking, misbehaving football players? Don’t you just wish that football season would start so they could start smashing each others brains out like law abiding good football citizens?

NFL Football Fan Question So who has had the worst off season?
