Peyton Manning and the Colts join Rodney Dangerfield
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Is Peyton bored?
The Indianapolis Colts can’t get any respect. Oh sure, you will say they are good and, Oh sure, you will say Peyton Manning is good. Then you fire right back with “They got no D” or “Donovan McNabb is having a better season than Peyton”.
The complaining comes from everywhere. Geez, these people need to get a dose of reality. Your intrepid author roots for the Lions. Life is so simple. What is wrong with the Lions? Hmm, let me think about 2 seconds. Oh, that’s right, everything is wrong with the Lions. They stink.
What is wrong with the Colts? That too, is easy… The salary cap is wrong with them. Every team has weaknesses, because the salary cap forces you to make choices, instead of buying up every player in sight. There can be no New York Yankees in football (My Tigers beat you anyway).
The latest theory is that they are bored. Bored? Yeah, bored, because all they do is win. If the game is tight they just score more points. It is too easy.
Ultimately, fair or not, the Colts will be judged by the playoffs. In the playoffs, stopping the run will become more important. In the back of everyone’s mind, the thinking is that the Colts could not survive a bad day passing, because their defense can not stop the run.
Then again, when did they ever have a bad day passing? 5 and 0, baby! 5 and 0.

Love the Colts! You’re right, they’re going to need to prove themselves in the Playoffs and seal the deal. They need to stop the run for sure, but I’m liking the way the defense is coming together and learning every game. We’ve still got too many injured players, the double-team of Addai and Rhoades are making me forget the other guy we lost because of salary cap issues.

BN,
don’t get to see many full Indi games. How good is Addai? Will he get more of the load as the season progresses?
Always wondered, do Colts fans consider themselves fans of the old Baltimore Colts?

Addai is no Edgerrin James yet, but I see glimpses if he keeps working. Addai keeps pumping to stretch yardage which I like and I think he will just continue to get better. As far as the Baltimore Colts, I’d say some fans are and some fans aren’t. However, I’d say most of today’s fans probably don’t even think about the Colts prior to Manning, I believe the Colts have developed a whole new generation of football fans in our city.
