Peyton Manning Part II - Rudi runs wild

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

The Colts began the year with 9 straight victories. We began to wonder if they would go undefeated.

In game 10 against the Cowboys, we looked a little closer and the King was wearing no shoulder pads. Peyton threw a couple of interceptions and even dropped a fumble. The Cowboys walked away victorious.

McNabbless they lose

The next week the Colts… took it out on Philly. Reminding them how easy it is to run for touchdowns. Joseph Addai had 4 touchdowns against the Philla-McNabbless Eagles.

Then Tennessee beats them with a 60 yard field goal as Manning throws more interceptions. The Titans ran all over Indy’s defense. Fluke, Indy lost their concentration and geez, a 60 yard field goal? Tennessee was just lucky. (or so we thought!)

The Jags decide to run

The following week the multiple personality Jacksonville Jaguars sent their running personality to the game and simply kept Peyton off the field as they ran up and down the field and Maurice Jones-Drew scored a couple of TD’s to open some eyes for his potential rookie of the year award.

All of that brings us to this weeks Monday night match up against the Bengals. This will be two challenged defenses against two red hot offenses. Carson against Peyton. Chad Johnson against Reggie Wayne. T.J. Houshmandzadeh against Marvin Harrison. Rudi Johnson against Joseph Addai. (Squibster full disclosure - Carson is on my Fantasy Football team)

Keys to the Game - Johnson and Johnson

The 1st key to this game is the improvement in the Bengals, especially on defense. The 2nd key to this game is the inability of the Colts to stop anyone on defense.

This should be a huge day for Rudi Johnson. He has been running well lately. Look for the Bengals to turn him loose as he takes advantage of the under manned poor tackling run defense of the Colts. If the Colts come up to the line to crowd Rudi, then Chad Johnson will be scoring touchdowns.

You see it is a fact that when Rudi runs well the Bengals win.

So look for Rudi Johnson to get the ball a lot as the Bengals try to keep the unflappable Peyton Manning off the field. (Squibster full disclosure - Rudi is on my Fantasy Football team. Oh no, did your gallivanting author jinx the Rudi?)
