Randy Moss would like to run away from controversy
Randy Moss the All Pro receiver has been here all year.
He plays for the New England Patriots at wide receiver. Randy eats right, shows up for practice early, runs great routes, and is a great teammate.
Wait, Randy, Thee Randy Moss does all those things?
Yes, he does.
After controversial years at Minnesota and Oakland, Randy has matured and sees his chance to be great and play for great team. He has been the model citizen.
Until now.
As often is the case with Randy G. Moss – as he’s referred to in Broward County (Fla.) case DVCE08000315 – the details are sketchy, the facts few, the conclusions varied.
What’s undeniable is that as the Patriots prepare to face the San Diego Chargers in the AFC championship game on Sunday, the circus that inevitably comes with Moss’ brilliant catches finally came to town. source
The timing could not be worse.
With Sunday’s game with the San Diego Chargers looming, there is little need for off the field distractions.
None the less, it is there.
According to the Boston Herald, the court papers allege that during a Jan. 6 incident at Washington’s Fort Lauderdale home, Moss committed “a battery upon (Washington) causing serious injury. (Moss) refused to allow (Washington) to seek medical treatment.”
It also claims the two have had an “intimate relationship” that dates back 11 years and that Moss has a drug or alcohol problem.
Did they say “Drug or Alcohol problem”?
Randy Moss, of course, issued the standard denials.
“This is a negative,” he said of the latest allegation, “a black cloud hanging over my head, and that’s something that I did not want coming into the season. … Everything I tried to do from getting here early, to make sure I eat the right food, all the way to practicing and playing, I wanted all of that to be A-plus.
“Everything’s been positive, so why would I bring something negative on. As much as I care and love the game of football and love my teammates, I would never put myself or them in a situation of something like this.” source
Among other things the women said she was denied medical treatment by Randy Moss.
Washington alleged Moss refused to allow her to seek medical treatment.
“She has her own house. She has her own car,” Moss said. “So how am I going to deny someone medical attention when you live by yourself and have your own vehicle?”
Here is the suspicious part. A man representing the woman asked for a 6 figure payoff to not take this public. Huh?
Sometimes it is not good to be a public figure with a lot of dough.
New England needs a focused Randy Moss and even though Coach Bill Belichick says to concentrate on football, it may not be easy. The timing of the whole deal adds to the suspiciousness of the whole episode.
When Tom Brady goes back to throw, he better hope that the unfettered Randy Moss is out there making the catch.
