NFL Football Revealed on Squib Kick

Randy Moss will take no loss

by James on December 26th, 2007

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Randy Moss hauls in another TD

Randy MossThis is Randy Moss from Marshall in the MAC conference.

We thought he might not be quite as good in the NFL as he was eating everyone’s lunch in the Mid American. Turns out we were wrong.

We thought that he was kind of lazy and selfish with the Vikings, even though at times, when he wanted to be, Randy Moss was just unstoppable.

As a Lions fan, it was tough to watch the Vikings come into town, often with a different quarterback, but the same result. At least once or twice a game, Randy would accelerate away from our cornerback and safety for a deep touchdown pass.

Then Randy goes to Oakland and dies. There was no quarterback, no lineman, no coach, just rabid fans. Fans that expected Randy to lift Oakland up by himself and make them a winner.

You thought it was bad that Randy took a few plays off in Minnesota, and we thought we were so smart holding that against him, well, he took the whole season off with the Raiders.

Then a miracle happened, both Green Bay and New England wanted Moss to play for them. Hmm, touchdown passes from Brett Favre or touchdown passes from Tom Brady. How does one choose?

Randy chose New England and we still were not sure. Oh, we knew New England would be better, but would Randy grow to become a distraction?

But it seems Randy is great at making choices these days.

Tom Brady says Randy is a great teammate, both on the field and in the weight room and everywhere else.

Just the other day Randy was caught making a great block on a Laurence Maroney 51 yard touchdown run. He was doing what?

Now he is talking about the 16 - 0 perfect record meaning more than breaking Jerry Rice’s touchdown record. Huh?

The drive ended with Moss’ second touchdown catch of the game and 21st of the year.

If he gets two more Saturday night, he’ll break Jerry Rice’s NFL record of 22 in one season, although Rice did it in 12 games in 1987, a strike year. And if the Patriots beat the New York Giants, they’ll become the first team to finish a season at 16-0.

In his first year with the Patriots, Moss has shed his reputation as a selfish guy who takes plays off plays when the ball’s not thrown to him.

“If I break the record, I’m cool. If I don’t, I’m cool,” he said. “Basically, what I’m saying is: I want to keep winning, the hell with the record.” source

How do you explain the new Randy Moss? Maybe Jerry Rice knows. Hey, Jerry, can you explain this please?

Rice has seen Moss develop from a flashy star into a team player.

“He’s very intelligent,” said the man whose record might last just a few more days. “I think he just needed to grow up and mature and I think he has done that now and they love him in New England.”

There you have it, Randy grows up and he still catches deep passes, only the Patriots don’t play my Lions twice a year!
