Reggie Bush - if you fake to Reggie, can he sell it, oh man, can he sell it
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Reggie Bush is running away with the endorsement deals!
It turns out Reggie Bush may be a better salesperson than he is a runner in the NFL and he is a pretty darn good runner.
Reggie just started in the NFL a year ago amid controversy as to why he was the 2nd pick to Mario Williams of Houston. Just how could that happen? Houston had no running attack and no offensive line. Here was a chance to solve one of those problems, but they passed. (No pun intended).
So to make a short story short, Reggie ended up being a Saint and the whole New Orleans area went crazy for Reggie. Immediately Reggie Bush was a good will ambassador for a town that needed it badly.
Some people just seem to have that charm and it is a charm that can’t be faked.
It helps that Reggie became a pretty good ball player by seasons end. The last several games he averaged 4.8 yards per game as he learned to be patient for the inside hole to open up rather than just jumping outside like it was college.
You see, when runners get to the Pro’s they have to learn there are great athletes all over the field and the speed is incredible. Think about 250 pound linebackers that are faster than the guy that won the 100 meter dash in your high school phys ed class.
Now think of 300 pound linemen that are faster than you are right now.
Anyway Reggie’s yards shot up and his coaches confidence in Reggie increased too. This year look for Reggie’s number of carries to go way up as he begins to establish himself as one of the young stars of the game.
Reggie is already a star outside of the game.
Bush is part of eight national advertising campaigns this season, including Pepsi, Hummer and Visa. He’s in a Subway commercial with Jared Fogle, the man who gained fame by losing weight with the so-called Subway diet. source
Of course, Peyton Manning is the Grand Marshall of the advertising parade, but Reggie is quickly moving up the ladder. He is approaching Tom Brady and that other sophomore pro, Vince Young.
Just how does Reggie do it?
“He’s a flashy player. He’s been a real spark for the community and helped rebuild New Orleans,” Dorfman says. “That helps him a lot in today’s market when all you read are negative things about players. He seems to be charismatic, likable guy who can deliver a line well.”
Just to top it off, Reggie’s number 25 jersey was the top seller in the NFL last year.
NFL Football Fan Question Will you be watching Reggie commercials or Reggie runs this year?
As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.
