NFL Football Revealed on Squib Kick

Ricky Williams altering Miami Dolphins conciousness

by James on May 21st, 2007

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Will Ricky be asked to turn in his helmet?

Ricky Williams (Marc Serota / Reuters file)Ricky is pretty much rolled and smoked as far as Miami is concerned.

Cam Cameron has brought out the character word and we all know what that means.

Cam is the new coach and he is trying to differentiate himself from the old coach. You remember him don’t you? Good Old Nick Saban.

In fact, Cam is trying to be different from all the old Miami coaches…

But understand this: Every Dolphins coach for decades, from upright Don Shula to shrewd Jimmy Johnson to nice-guy Dave Wannstedt to duplicitous Nick Saban — every one of them clutched the same belief. They believed they could save a problem player.

The better the player, the harder they believed this.

Cameron doesn’t believe. source

Squibster word power note: duplicitous Nick Saban means he kind of said one thing and did another. In other words he misled or deceived us with his words.

The character stand probably won’t work.

Miami has a history of trying to convert players with problems. Think of Mercury Morris or Hollywood Henderson, late in his career.

Cam did not exactly win friends and influence people when he signed Joey Porter at the same time all the character talk is going on.

Porter arrived with behavioral questions. He promptly got into a very public Las Vegas fight that’s still being sorted out by police. So you can believe what Cameron says or not. You can ask for more time to see how hard he believes what he says or not.

Just think if Ricky was a serial killer?

The temptation to take a high talent player even if they are a serial killer is just too great.

Uhh, coach your star player is a serial killer.

Yeah but everyone he killed played for the other team and did you see all those yards he gained?

Squibster interruption: Ok, that was probably a small exaggeration. Not everyone he killed played for the other team, but he did not kill anyone that was going to make the cut anyway.

Cam Cameron thinks he has just arrived at this level of choosing character.

“The easiest predictor of future behavior is previous behavior,” Cameron said Friday. “Could I have made that statement 15 years ago? Absolutely not. I was trying to save every guy in the game. source

Now if you are wondering why Ricky even wants to come back, when it looks like he would rather teach yoga and catch a buzz, well, there is this small amount of money he owes to the Dolphins.

Williams still owes the Dolphins $8.6 million for breaching his contract when he sat out the 2004 season. Since he was acquired from New Orleans in 2002, the Dolphins have endured a five-year playoff drought, the longest in franchise history. source

Man, it seem like every time someone says that they are owed 8.6 million dollars by the Squibster, it just ruins your intrepid authors day.

Anyway, the ‘Character’ word has been pulled out by Cam Cameron and used on Ricky Williams and usually signals the end.

The End.

NFL Football Fan Question So when you get your buzz on, do you enjoy the character players?

As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.

It’s a shame Ricky is such an idiot, I love the fish and this guy could have made a difference. He had a chance to be a great running back but totally blew it. The talent he had, what a waste. Enjoy smokin the weed I’m sure it well worth it.
