Roy Williams leads league, Shaun Rogers suspended, Detroit Lions fallout
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Don’t even get me started. Should have known. The Detroit Lions win a game and have to pay for it. Shaun Rogers is suspended for 4 games for taking a banned substance.
Is it any coincidence that a Detroit writer was saying that Shaun was not giving it is all?
The evil gods of football also left Detroit without their 3rd down back Shawn Bryson. In fact the edict came down to take out a few ‘Detroit Lion Shauns’ no matter how they are spelled. Yes, there is a price to victory.
Ernie Sims showed up to practice with… his elbow in a sling and is listed as probable. (Squibster full disclosure - Ernie was just picked up on my Fantasy Football team to fill in for Lance Briggs of Chicago, who has a bye week) He is a linebacker; expect him to show up for game time next week.
Ok, ok, there was plenty to crow about and all teams have injuries, you are correct.
Let’s start crowing. Roy Williams leads the league in receiving yardage!
Marinelli goes for it, not only on 4th down on the 1, but on a 56 yard field goal. Hey, aren’t you supposed to go for it when you are 0 and 5?
The Defensive unit played out of their minds with 5 sacks. Was Marinelli impressed? Don’t think so.
• The Lions’ defense had a season-high five sacks and Marinelli was encouraged, but not satisfied, with the play of his unit. “We left some out there,” he said. “We left three or four sacks out there. When we get them all, I’ll be happy.” source
NFL Football Fan Question Can the Lions sustain their winning streak of 1? Actually the schedule favors them for the next 5 games.
As always, any NFL related questions are welcome.
