Shaun Alexander Get’s the Madden 2007 Curse
Ugly. Ugly, I tell you. EA Sports and ESPN announced that Seattle Running Back, Shaun Alexander, gets the uncoveted privilege of being the cover boy for Madden 2007. There is a curse on Madden series coverboys that seems to force these guys into less than glamorous performances.
One Seattle Fan says, “Crap, crap, crap.” :-) I don’t blame him.
He also has a nice breakdown of recent history:
- Madden 2005 - Donovan McNabb: Missed 7 games. Philly misses the Super Bowl after going in 2004
- Madden 2004 - Ray Lewis: Critically seen as an off year. Ravens miss the playoffs.
- Madden 2003 - Michael Vick: Missed 11 Games. Falcons miss the playoffs.
- Madden 2002 - Marshall Faulk: Had least productive season as a Ram to that point and the Rams miss the playoffs.
- Madden 2001 - Daunte Culpepper: Missed 5 games. Vikings miss the playoffs.
- Madden 2000 - Eddie George: Key fumbles in playoffs.

That sucks for Seattle. The curse of the Super Bowl winner remains…
