Steelers working to extend Cowher
The Steelers have had a surprisingly quiet role in free agency this year. In fact, off the top of my head I can’t think of a single person they’ve signed. I’m not sure they even have signed anyone, though I’m sure they have.
That doesn’t, however, rule out the fact that they might have done better than just about all of the teams so far. They’re working on extending Bill Cowher’s contract, they’ve let some not so good yet expensive players walk, and they’ve restructured a lot of contracts.
Like the article title says, they could very well repeat next year.

I’m all for a Steeler repeat, especially since my Vikes have been dismantled.

Nevermind - I forgot the Vikes had Johnson back. I always liked him. This season might not suck as bad as I first thought.

Uh…he’s getting pretty old. And if you look at his stats last year, he really wasn’t all that good.

Old or not, he’s boring; and that’s what the franchise needs after the last couple years.

true, true, the Vikings definitely seem to be moving away from the “bady boy” Raider image they’ve had for a while with Moss, Culpepper, and just about everyone after last year’s, er, event
