NFL Football Revealed on Squib Kick

Surging Chiefs could be in trouble against Rams

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Larry splits the defenders

Kansas City vs. St. Louis

There are some tremendous matchups this week where teams will lay it all on the line to prove themselves for playoff time. None of these matchups are really important like life or death, but all of them are important in measuring just where you are in the scheme of thing. The Chiefs vs. Rams is one of those games.

The conventional thinking is that the Rams will spread the field and KC will not only struggle to cover the Rams receivers, but it will open lanes for Stephen Jackson. (Squibster full disclosure - Torry Holt is on my Fantasy Team)

Torry leaps high for the TD

Torry HoltNFL Fantasy Football update In the Fantasy world, you have the no. 1 Fantasy receiver Torry Holt, the no. 2 Fantasy Kicker Jeff Wilkins, the no. 2 Fantasy Defender Will Witherspoon, combined with the no. 3 Fantasy quarterback Mark Bulger vs. the no. 2 Fantasy running back Larry Johnson. (hardly seems fair, doesn’t it, but remember in the Fantasy world you could have all of these players. Now that would not be fair to the other teams. :) )

St. Louis is fighting to maintain a tie with Seattle for the NFC West. The Seahawks, in spite of coming off of 2 straight losses and not having their starting quarterback or running back, are facing a weak Oakland team.

Kansas City is fighting for their playoff lives in the AFC West. The two teams ahead of KC are San Diego and Denver. Both teams sport excellent defenses that should keep them successful for the rest of the season. Both teams also have some shortcomings at quarterback with Phillip Rivers just getting his feet wet and Jake Plummer just barely able to hold off the rookie Jay Cutler.

Squibster’s choice

Your intrepid author is taking St. Louis in this one, just because the absence of Trent Green leaves KC with a qb that is not very mobile against a very active Ram defense.

NFL Football Fan Question Can KC find a way to stay close to San Diego and Denver until Trent Green gets back? Will Bulger to Holt take St Louis to the Playoffs?

As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.

3 opinions for Surging Chiefs could be in trouble against Rams

The Rams blew their chance to contend this year - they should have had the game against Seattle and if they could ever find a way to beat the awful 49ers, they’d be 6-1 right now, and still with a chance to capitalize on the Seahawks’ injuries to Hasselbeck and Alexander.

KC though is looking better every week. It’s entirely possible that the AFC West gets three playoff teams this year since you never know what to expect from the Bengals and Jags, who seem to be the other real wild card contenders at this point.

KC is looking solid. Cinci is struggling with a tough schedule. the Jags, who knows, they are bizarre.

Since the Rams got Trent Green from the Chief, in the off season, it should be helpful for us. So we should know what kind of plays they ran, so our De-fence could and should stop there running game, and put more pressure on there QB.
