Thursday Night Football Preview
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
If you are fortunate enough to have the NFL Network, you can watch an enthralling matchup of the 10-1 Dallas Cowboys facing the 10-1 Green Bay Packers. This game promises to be one of the best games of the season.
The marquee names in this battle are Tony Romo and Brett Favre. Favre, despite being 38-years-old, is having a career season. He’s passing as accurate as ever and for more yards than ever. There is no question that the re-emergence of Favre has been one of the best stories of this NFL season.
The Cowboys’ version of Favre is Romo. Like Favre, Romo isn’t afraid to improvise on the run. Romo is having a fantastic year and if it weren’t for Tom Brady, he’d probably be the leading candidate for the MVP award.
Besides the quarterbacks, each team’s offense has quality playmakers. For the Packers, those playmakers are in their wide receiving corps. Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, James Jones and Koren Robinson are all very talented wideouts. Donald Lee has emerged as a very good tight end for Green Bay.
In Dallas, Terrell Owens and Jason Witten are Romo’s favorite weapons. Owens remains one of the best wide receivers in the game, while Witten, the team’s tight end, is having a career year. The Cowboys also have two very dependable running backs in Marion Barber and Julius Jones.
Defensively, the Packers have been very impressive. While their offense isn’t quite as powerful as the Cowboy’s offense, their defense is definitely superior. The Cowboys’ defense isn’t horrible but it’s been inconsistent for much of the season.
That said, I think the Cowboy’s offense will just be too much for the Packers to overcome. My prediction is a 28-21 victory for Dallas on Thursday night.

Bryant Gumble is terrible, and boring to listen to. The only thing bad about Thursday night football is listening to Gumble. He should be replaced!
The network should conduct a poll , to see how the listeners feel, I am sure he would be on the short end.
