Tom Brady plays a scene that looks straight out of the Simpsons as he slowly falls down with a serious knee injury

Tom Brady is turning out to be the best quarterback ever drafted in the sixth round of any draft.

He is a sure Hall of Famer.

But right now Tom is just another injured player wondering about his future. He took the first big step by getting knee surgery.

Brady’s surgery took place 29 days after he was injured in the Patriots’ 17-10 season-opening win over the Chiefs. Multiple sources told the Globe that Brady tore the anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament in his knee when hit by Kansas City safety Bernard Pollard.

In cases similar to Brady’s, doctors often wait for the MCL to heal before reconstructing the ACL. That is typically a four- to six-week window, so Brady is closer to the early side.

Even if you are not a Patriots fan, you have to marvel at how good Tom Brady plays when he is healthy and no one really likes to see someone injured. So, Tom, may you have a speedy recovery, but never ever beat my Lions.
