Denver Broncos Travis Henry smoking the secondhand
NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Michael Vick said Travis was just sitting next to him, he wasn’t smoking
It is just too common.
You’re just hanging out and someone else is smoking the wacky and you catch some secondhand smoke and bam, THC is in your body.
Well, at least that is what Travis Henry is claiming in what could become a groundbreaking case.
There are many who believe the Broncos’ star running back might be innocent since his case likely will revolve around low levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in his urine sample. Henry’s case is expected to revolve around the possibility of secondhand marijuana smoke and his willingness to submit to a lie detector test and give hair samples. Those moves could make his case viable. source

So will Travis manage to get out of trouble?
Hold on, let’s fire up the bong and consider what is going on here:
Travis took a drug test.
The drug test showed THC. (It’s in that stuff you are putting in that bong)
The NFL does not allow drugs like THC.
He is guilty.
(Exhaaaaale)
Still, many in the league don’t expect him to win, but his victory would change the way positive drug tests are approached by players and their representatives and could have an effect on how the substance abuse program is operated. The NFL is very difficult to beat legally, especially in the case of drug testing. Thus, the consensus is Henry eventually will be suspended, and it could be November before such a move is finalized after the appeal process.
There are more implications than just testing positive.
If Henry is suspended, he will be lonely. The NFL allows players who are suspended for four games (Henry received this punishment two years ago while with Tennessee) to continue to work out at their team’s facility. Players who are bounced from the league for a year cannot work out at that facility.
The Canadian football league is out. They changed their rules, because they got tired of former NFL druggies entering their league.
Maybe the last duty to take care of is contract. Travis signed a pretty good contract when he came from the Titans.
If Henry is suspended, watch for the Broncos and his agent to talk about redoing his contract. A $6 million option bonus kicks in next spring, and that would not be paid by the team. The Broncos are on the books for the $6 million signing bonus paid to Henry, and they can recoup $1.2 million in prorated money. Henry has been paid $1 million of the signing bonus.
Just a second, catching a lot of secondhand smoke right now and it is hard to think. Oh yeah, Travis Henry, he is in big trouble.
The shame of it all is that Travis would have run behind that Denver line that just cranks out the 1,000 yard rushers like it is nothing. Travis had 1,200 yards last year for the Titans. He was on pace for a 1,500+ yard year with Denver.

I would be thinking of any excuse at all to remain in the league if I had that much child support payments to make per month.

The NFL suspends people for second hand stuff but if your the primary person doing the offending you’ll probably be ok.
